The 12-meter high wooden Bourne Creek Trestle Bridge formed part of the Woolamai-Wonthaggi railway until 1978 and is now a feature of the Bass Coast Rail Trail.

Constructed in 1911, the iconic, heritage-listed Kilcunda Bridge stretches 91 meters across Bourne Creek at Kilcunda. Pedal or stroll the iconic bridge, stopping to take in the views of the creek, the sandy Kilcunda Beach, and the crashing waves from the Bass Strait.

The Trestle bridge was once used to transport coal from the “Powlett Coal Fields” by the Victorian Railways from 1911 to 1978. This coal was used to fuel the steam locomotives that crossed the now-iconic Bourne Creek Trestle Bridge. It is clearly visible from the main road that runs through Kilcunda or from the beautiful Kilcunda Beach.
