The Gippsland Armed Forces Museum highlights the role played by Gippslanders in our Defence Forces.

The Gippsland Armed Forces Museum researches, educates, and exhibits art, film, heraldry, photographs, private records, and technology to illustrate the role Gippsland men and women have played in the Defence of our country in times of war and peace since 1885.

The Museum includes a Research Library where you can search through family histories, books, and logs. A computer is also available for electronic research.

The collection includes personal items, including diaries, uniforms and medals, photographs, maps, reports, and posters from all branches of the defence force.

There are models and full-sized examples of machinery and equipment.

This museum was opened in December 2003 by a committee established in the year 2000. It is a non-profit organisation and is level 1 accredited with Museums Australia.
