The Garden at Broughton Hall is 24 years old. The banks, lawns, paths, steps, and garden beds were designed and constructed in 1996. Since then it has been the variety of plants, the density of planting, and the original, eclectic nature of the planting scheme that has evolved to become a major feature of this garden.

Now in its twenty-fourth year, the design remains strong and impressive. The planting. original and varied, and the setting, breath-taking. This is a garden to spend time in, slowly moving from one area to another, sitting in every seat, observing, contemplating, and relaxing, feeling the integrity with which it was created, and appreciating the beauty that The Garden at Broughton Hall offers every visitor.

We have a collection of garden ornaments throughout the garden that add interest and visual impact to the garden, including the antique Egyptian gates at the front of the four courts to the house, the stone oblique to the right of the house in the top lawn, the hand-carved trough next to the gates to the courtyard.
