The Travellers Rest Hotel offers a fabulous array of Burgers, Parma’s, Fish, and Steaks (including great food for Veggies) accompanied with some wonderful Gippsland wines.

We have an offer for our early birds, our ‘Big Breakfast’ is available from 8.00 am on Saturday and Sunday morning. The good news for the late snoozers is that the ”Big Breakfast’ goes right through to 2.00 pm. And when we say big breakfast we mean it. With a choice of a cooked plate with loads of protein, Mitch’s special smashed avo, granola, and hollandaise eggs, the choice is yours.

This hotel was established in 1908 and passed through four generations of ownership until 2016. The building that we see today was built in 1937 at a time of peak farming activity in Thorpdale. Located a stone’s throw from the old Thorpdale Railway station, the hotel was designed to cater to local needs and an increasing amount of road traffic at ‘this hitherto unknown beauty spot’.

Travellers Rest Hotel was originally founded as a hotel and a general store, the business is now transitioning to becoming an iconic destination for locals and travellers to this region.
