Youngs Creek Waterfall is perfect for a bush barbecue, and enjoy the platform views extending out onto the rock shelf above the falls.

The walking track to the Youngs Creek Waterfalls begins at the back of the picnic area and gently winds it’s way downstream to the top of the Youngs Creek waterfall. Here the creek surges over a rock face to plunge into a large pool some 13 meters below. From the top of this rock face, the track descends into a ferny gully and then to the base of the falls where Kanuka and Teatree are growing in abundance.

This track is narrower and steeper, but still readily navigable. It winds down through the bush into a little moss-covered flat of lush vegetation, just before you reach the water. From there you can scramble over the rocks up to the waterfall, and depending on the flow of water in the creek, cross to relax on the broad rock shelf on the other side.

You can combine the visit to the falls with a few other loop walks that also start from the picnic ground, so as to make a day of it.
