Mt Baw Baw is the perfect location to enjoy all year round from skiing, cross country and snow play in winter to hiking, mountain bike riding and relaxing in the warmer months. It’s the ideal location for everyone being so close to Melbourne, only 150km away. This year sees the arrival of the Snow Factory on the mountain, which can produce snow 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, guaranteeing that lifts will be operational all winter season.
Something For Everyone
Don’t know how to ski or snowboard? Our ski instructors are available to teach you how, catering for both kids and adults in small groups or one on one lessons. Mt Baw Baw is perfect for beginners as 30 percent of Mt Baw Baw’s runs are designed for beginners. For the kids, there are 2 dedicated toboggan parks to play and have fun on. We do cater for experienced skiers with challenging downhill runs, plus the favorite husky dog sled tours for cruising across the backcountry. If you don’t want to challenge yourself, you can enjoy a snowshoe tour of the mountain.

What To At Night
The Village Restaurant caters for a range of tastes with local produce where you can sit and watch the spectacular views across West Gippsland from the deck or inside the restaurant. The Alpine Bistro serves up great pub food and on the weekend, the party gets underway with weekend DJs and bands right throughout the snow season. Every Saturday night there’s night skiing, weather permitting!
During The Warmer Months
In the warmer months, Mt Baw Baw is the place to get outdoors and soak up the spectacular alpine scenery of Baw Baw National Park. Plenty of well marked and made walking trails through the snowgums and along the way you can discover the beautiful alpine wildflowers and wildlife
The many dedicated mountain biking trails offer all levels of challenges across the mountain, making Mt Baw Baw’s ideal for cross-country and downhill riding. Trails come complete with raised decking on some sections of the tracks so weather conditions don’t interfere with the ride.
