Prom Country Cheese And Country Kitchen
We are open November to April
Visitors to our farm gate can sample our cheeses in the sampling room or out on the verandah enjoying the view, sharing what we are so lucky to live with every day. The breathtaking rolling hills and trees of the Moyarra Valley, pastures and the humble sheep that provide your food bring you into close contact with real farming and food production in South Gippsland.
Farmhouse Prom Country Cheese
We hand make our multi award winning and distinctive regional cheeses right here on the family farm from the fresh milk of our own ewes. Our sheep graze on pristine pastures which give our cheeses those unique premium qualities of creamy sheep milk which our artisans create cheeses of rounded, elegant flavor and delicate texture. Our farmgate cheeses on offer: 16 different sheeps milk cheeses and 4 cows milk cheeses. See our range of cheese here.
Burke & Bronwyn Brandon are second generation cheesemakers who developed the Prom Country label in 2012, showcasing the regional origin of our sheeps milk. We also make cows milk cheeses. These are traditional cheeses including natural-rinded hard cheese, soft cheese, marinated and blue cheese. The cow’s milk comes from the neighbor’s dairy so it’s local, no food miles in our country cheese.
Raw Milk Cheeses
In March 2020 we became the first commercial cheesemaker in Victoria to make uncooked, entirely raw cheese under strict new food standards regulation. Our farmgate cheese is stocked across a range of outlets, or you can order online.
